Dear Friends, We hope you are having a wonderful start to your summer.  At Terra Firma, we have been receiving our fresh seasonal herbs and processing our potent formulations for you and your family. This week, we are planning to work with our old friends Yarrow, Oats, St. Johns Wort (infused oil & tincture) and a new member of our tincture line-up, Teasel.  See below for more information on how we can use this "invasive" plant to assist us in our healing. Teasel, Teasel... Dipsacus follonum, or Common Teasel, is native to Europe, Asia and northern Africa.  Here in the US it is considered by most as an "invasive species" or a "noxious weed."   Beyond the history of this plant being used in the textile industry, it has been noted as having positive results in supporting people with Lyme disease, warts and circulation issues.  Also, the seeds of this plant are an important winter food source for many birds, most notably the European Goldfinch.      Weed or plant ally?  We'd say the so-called "weeds" are here for a reason and look forward to sharing the gifts of our Teasel extract with those who need it!   Stay tuned for updates and the release of our Teasel tincture in the next few months! Maqui Berry Extract is here!   We are pleased to announce the release of our newest single tincture - Maqui Berry!     Maqui berries (Aristotelia chilensis) have been shown to have very high levels of antioxidants. Some believe that the harsh climate in Chile where the berries grow together with recent high solar radiation have increased the levels of anthocyanins (the pigment in the berries). Numerous studies have been done on the positive effects of these antioxidants in assisting in major health issues. We look forward to having this powerful extract in our ever expanding single tincture line. The expanding Combos...
