Juniper has a long history of being used medicinally by the Hopi, Northeast Native Americans, Tibetans as well as Western European cultures. It contains limonene, tannins and powerful antioxidant flavonoids.

Juniper has antiseptic and diuretic properties, improving digestion, stimulating the uterus and reducing inflammation. It is also used to clear uric acid from the body and has a high content of natural insulin. It is useful for all urinary infections and for water retention problems.

Use in moderation. Avoid use during pregnancy. Also, do not use Juniper if you have inflammation of the kidneys.

Sarsaparilla is native to South and Central America and can be found in the Eastern United States. Pedro de Cieze de Leon's Chronicle of Peru, written in 1553, mentions sarsaparilla to be one of the most powerful New World remedies he had encountered.

It was traditionally used as a general health tonic and can help in the treatment of chronic skin conditions. Sarsaparilla has also been used in the treatment of certain venereal diseases. It contains flavonoids and saponins.
